OD Mounted Hydraulic Trav L Cutter For Power Plant , Nuclear Power
The climbing pipeline cutting and beveling machine (Travel Cutter) is the pipe processing equipment independently developed by Bohyar based on the market and prospect of pipeline service industry. The product is portable, precise, and efficient and in modular design, fully meeting customer demands, it can cut and bevel all common pipe materials, so this travel cutter is the perfect choice for the cutting and beveling of various pipes.
It is widely used in long distance transport pipeline, power plant, nuclear power, petroleum, chemical engineering, natural gas, boiler shop, pharmacy, pipe prefabrication plant, pipeline installation engineering, rush-repair work, etc.
■ Compact Design
Easy Set-up Light weight, low profile design needs only 10"to 12"of clearance and set up time is 30 minutes or less. Once the adjustable drive chain is pinned together and tensioned around the pipe the machine is ready to operate.
■ Standard Weld Prep Capability
Weld preparation detail can be achieved from common 30° and 37-1/2°bevel on standard wall carbon steel.
■ Pipe Line Maintenance
Bohyar’s Travel Cutter offers the inherent advantages of a completely sealed and self-lubricating closed loop system. It is particularly suited to field machining operations under the type of hostile conditions often found in pipe line maintenance and construction such as dirt, sand and water.

Hydraulic Control |
Cutter on-off, feed on-off. Flow control valves which can adjust feed speed. Separate controls, providing adjustable feed and cutter speed. Forward/Reverse travel permits machine to be backed up. |
■ We have standard beveling tools of 30°, 37° and also can customize the tools.
■ Connect the hydraulic hose to the valve block on the Travel Cutter.
■ With the hydraulic supply turned on the machine is ready to cut the pipe. Turn the valve handle on cutter valve 90° to the right. This will make the cutter spindle motor in operation and rotate the cutter.
■ Slowly feed the rotating cutter down until it extends through the wall of the pipe by approximately 14mm(A maximum single cutting depth is 14mm and it will affect the use efficiency if exceeding 14mm) This is done by turning the feed screw in a clockwise direction. One complete turn of the feed screw lowers the cutter 4mm. Lock the cutter in position by placing the feed screw lock on the shoulder of the feed screw and lock in place with the thumb screw.
■ Turn valve handle on feed valve 45° to the right. This will operate the drive motor and make the machine travel around the pipe for a complete cut. Speed may be reduced by adjustment of the feed valve handle (close slowly until proper speed is attained). Machine is traveling too fast if wheel to right of cutter lifts off pipe or if machine is vibrating excessively.
■ When the cut is completed, stop the drive motor by turning feed valve to the left until machine stops. With the cutter still rotating release the elevating screw lock and raise the valve to the left 90°. Remove the cutter from the machine. Release the tension on the drive chain by turning the chain tension screw counter clockwise. Remove the connecting pins from the chain to uncouple it and the machine can be removed from the pipe.
■ Provide adequate lighting to use the equipment, in accordance with worksite or local regulations.
■ Keep work area clear. Keep all clutter and nonessential materials out of the work area. Only people directly involved with the work being performed should have access to the area.
■ Make sure the equipment is stable when attached to the work piece for the operation. Ensuring stability of the installed tool is the responsibility of the operator.
